    Below is some useful information about our class.

    Home Learning expectations

    • Reading: Children should be reading their book at home for at least 15 minutes per day. They must then complete their Accelerated Reader Quiz after completing the book - more information can be found below.
    • Maths: Children are expected to play Maths Whizz for 30 minutes a week - this is an online platform. 
    • Times tables: Children must play Times Table Rockstars for at least 10 minutes 4/5 times a week to improve their speed and recall of multiplication facts. They need to score at least 200 points per week. 
    • Spellings: New spellings will come home on a Monday and be tested the following Monday. There will usually be 10 words to learn per week. 

    Home learning will be checked every Thursday morning. If children cannot access these online platforms, please inform Mrs Binns so she can organise time at school for these to be accessed.

    Reading

    • We encourage your child to read at home for at least 15 minutes, five times per week, to foster their love of reading. Children have their Z.P.D. (reading level and colour) in their spelling book to show which books they should be reading.
    • Your child should change their reading book as and when they need to in our class library so they always have a book to read and enjoy.
    • Once children have finished reading a book, use this link to visit the Accelerated Reader site and take a quiz at home on the book they have just finished.
    • Your child has a target of 15 points per term on Accelerated Reader.
    • As a class, if we achieve 350 points, we will earn a whole-class treat!

    If you are unable to take quizzes at home, please inform Mrs Binns so she can organise time for a quiz to be taken at school.

    P.E.

    • Children need to come to school wearing their school P.E. kit on their designated P.E. day.
    • Roe Deer have PE on a Tuesday.
    • Please remember to remove earrings before children come to school on a Tuesday.
