What is the PE and Sports Grant?

Each year, schools are required to publish details of how they use the PE and Sports Grant, and the impact this funding has on pupils’ participation and attainment.

The Government provides additional funding each academic year to improve the provision of physical education and sport in primary schools. This funding, known as the PE and Sports Grant, is jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport. The money goes directly to schools to be invested in enhancing the quality of PE and sport for all pupils.

All state-maintained schools, academies, middle schools, special schools and pupil referral units with primary-aged pupils receive this funding.

At Westvale Park Primary Academy & Nursery, we believe PE and sport play a vital role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to transform young people’s lives for the better.

We are committed to using this resource to deliver high-quality PE lessons, while also providing greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people.

You can view our PE and Sports Premium reports below, which set out how the funding has been used and the impact it has had.
