All About Me

This half term in Happy Bunnies we will be getting to know ourselves, our friends, and our new nursery environment. We will begin by learning that Nursery is a safe, happy place where everyone is kind and follows our classroom rules and routines.

Using the story The Colour Monster, we will explore different feelings and emotions, helping children to recognise, name and talk about how they are feeling. We will also celebrate what makes each of us unique by discussing our special qualities, favourite things, and the people who are important to us.

Our art activities will focus on 'My Looks', where children will observe and describe their facial features before creating self-portraits through a variety of creative experiences. We will also spend time talking about our families, encouraging children to share who lives in their home and the people they love, recognising that every family is special and unique.

Throughout these activities, children will develop confidence in talking about themselves, their likes and dislikes, and begin to understand that our differences are what make each of us special.
